Founded on a Passion for Movement

In 2009, founder Elena Vasquez opened Balance Pilates Studio with a simple vision: create a space where people of all backgrounds could discover the transformative power of Pilates.

What began as a small studio with two reformers has grown into Portland’s premier Pilates destination, featuring state-of-the-art equipment, 8 certified instructors, and a community of over 2,500 members.

Our approach blends classical Pilates principles with modern sports science, ensuring every client receives evidence-based instruction tailored to their unique needs.

What should I wear to my first class?

Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are recommended for reformer classes — we sell them at the studio if you need a pair.

Do I need prior Pilates experience?

Not at all! We offer beginner-friendly classes designed for those new to Pilates. Our instructors provide modifications for all fitness levels.

Can I freeze my membership?

Yes, monthly members can freeze their membership for up to 30 days per year at no extra charge. Just give us 48 hours notice.
